Akshay Kumar’s ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ Shoot Halted Following Pahalgam Terror Attack; Final Schedule Postponed to New Locations

Mumbai:

After the surprising news of Paresh Rawal's exit from Hera Pheri 3, another setback hits Bollywood as Akshay Kumar's upcoming comedy, Welcome to the Jungle, faces a delay in its production schedule.

Initially rumored to be stalled due to pending payments, new reports clarify that the filming was paused following the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, where the next schedule was planned. As a result, the production team has decided to relocate the remaining shoot and resume post-monsoon.

Shooting Halted Despite 70% Completion

Directed by Ahmed Khan and produced by Firoz Nadiadwala, Welcome to the Jungle boasts an ensemble cast of over 30 actors. Approximately 70% of the film has already been shot. The remaining portions, originally planned in Kashmir, were to include elaborate scenes involving helicopters, over 250 horses, and 1,200 junior artists.

However, due to the security concerns following the Pahalgam attack, the team decided to pause filming. According to Hindustan Times, the cast and crew are prepared and enthusiastic to resume shooting in alternative locations once the monsoon season ends.

Star-Studded Cast and Delay in Release

Officially announced in 2023, the film features a power-packed cast including Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Jacqueline Fernandez, Disha Patani, Lara Dutta, Arshad Warsi, and Shreyas Talpade. An energetic announcement video with a cappella performance had generated excitement among fans. Originally slated for a Christmas 2025 release, the film's launch may now be rescheduled.

Earlier reports also suggested that Sanjay Dutt, who was initially part of the film, may have exited the project.

Despite challenges, all 34 actors remain committed, and the team aims to wrap up production smoothly once new locations are finalized.
