Champa — Prayas Seva Sansthan, a voluntary organization that has been selflessly serving sick and injured cows in Champa for the past 10 years without any government support, has become the target of what it calls a malicious campaign.
On the night of June 15, two cows were seriously injured in
a hit-and-run incident involving an unidentified car at Barpali Chowk, Champa.
One of the cows died on the spot, while the other succumbed to its injuries
while being transported by the organization for treatment.
Following the incident, certain individuals allegedly began
spreading false rumors claiming that the NGO demanded ₹50,000 from the car
owner. The organization has strongly denied these allegations, calling them
baseless and damaging to its decade-long reputation for selfless service.
In response, the Prayas Seva Sansthan team approached the
Champa police station and met with Station In-Charge Jayprakash Gupta. The
organization has officially requested an impartial investigation into the
matter. The officer has assured them that a proper inquiry will be conducted.
The NGO has issued a public statement reaffirming its
commitment to serving animals without any expectation of monetary gain. It
appealed to the public and media not to share unverified claims that could harm
the organization's credibility. Furthermore, the organization warned that any
future attempts to defame it through false narratives will be met with legal
action.
