June 12, 2025 — Gold and silver prices witnessed a significant surge today, with gold jumping by ₹929 to touch ₹97,164 per 10 grams, according to the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA). The precious metal has now become costlier by ₹21,002 since the beginning of the year, when it was priced at ₹76,162.
Silver also gained momentum, climbing ₹454 to reach ₹1,05,948 per kilogram. Earlier this week, on June 10, silver hit an all-time high of ₹1,07,000 per kg. Gold had previously peaked at ₹99,100 on April 21.

Annual Price Surge
Since January 1, 2025, gold prices have increased by ₹21,002, while silver has risen by ₹19,931, up from ₹86,017 per kilogram. In comparison, gold rose by ₹12,810 in the entire year of 2024.
Expert Prediction: Gold May Cross ₹1.03 Lakh
According to Ajay Kedia, Director of Kedia Advisory, global geopolitical tensions are pushing gold prices higher. "The demand is rising and could push gold to ₹1.03 lakh per 10 grams by the end of the year," he said. Kedia also predicted that silver could reach ₹1.3 lakh per kilogram, particularly if industrial demand increases amid easing tensions.

Experts advise consumers to purchase only BIS-certified gold with a valid 6-digit HUID (Hallmark Unique Identification Number). This alphanumeric code ensures the purity of the gold item and protects against fraud.
