Focus on Tomato Cultivation and Agro-Processing
Observing the potential for tomato farming in the area, Governor Bais encouraged farmers in Sonpuri to expand production through kitchen gardens and local farms. He stressed the importance of promoting tomato processing units to reduce crop wastage and ensure better income for farmers.
Directive for 100% Scheme Coverage
Governor Bais instructed officials to ensure 100% coverage under the Ayushman Bharat health insurance scheme by issuing health cards to all eligible residents. He also called for immediate inclusion of any left-out farmers under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme.
Jal Jeevan Mission: Clean Water for Every Home
Reviewing the progress of the Jal Jeevan Mission, the Governor directed that every household in Sonpuri should receive piped access to clean drinking water. He also advised adopting sustainable water management practices like rainwater harvesting, soak pits, and conservation of traditional water sources.
Tree Plantation Under 'One Tree for Mother' Campaign
Highlighting the emotional and environmental significance of the "One Tree for Mother" campaign, the Governor appealed for widespread tree plantation across government institutions such as schools, anganwadis, panchayat buildings, and health centers.
Emphasis on Education and Literacy
Taking note of school dropouts, the Governor urged officials to take strong initiatives to bring such children back to school. He also encouraged adult literacy drives so that every individual can at least write their own name, stressing the importance of basic education in rural empowerment.
Appreciation for Women’s Self-Help Groups
Governor Bais lauded the efforts of self-help groups (SHGs) and instructed officials to provide them with the necessary resources and training to strengthen their financial stability and self-reliance.
He made it clear that the progress of all development activities in Sonpuri will be reviewed again within three months. Any delays or deficiencies in implementation must be addressed immediately, and work quality must be ensured at every step.
Road Safety and Accident Prevention
Reviewing the functioning of the police department, the Governor expressed concern over the rising number of road accidents—particularly those involving motorcycles. He directed authorities to launch awareness campaigns and take necessary measures to prevent such incidents.
He also instructed that vehicle owners be made responsible for guiding their drivers on speed limits and road safety. Additionally, accident-prone areas should be identified and equipped with appropriate safety infrastructure such as speed breakers and warning signs.
