Nita Ambani, the wife of billionaire Mukesh Ambani and founder of the Reliance Foundation, is well-known not only for her role in India’s business and philanthropic circles but also for her impressive educational and cultural background.
Born on November 1, 1964, Nita Ambani grew up in a middle-class family and completed her Bachelor’s degree from Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics, Mumbai. Before rising to prominence, she even worked as a school teacher, earning a modest salary of Rs 800 per month.
Recently, Nita Ambani was invited to speak at the prestigious Harvard India Conference, where she shared her humble beginnings. She fondly recalled how her family couldn’t afford to send her to Harvard, despite her desire to study there. “My mother called my daughters-in-law and said, ‘When Nita was young, we could not afford to send her to Harvard, even though she wanted to go.
