Raipur: Chhattisgarh Police have cracked the brutal suitcase murder case in Raipur, revealing a chilling plot involving a married couple who killed a disabled teenager over a property and money dispute. The body was hidden in a suitcase filled with cement and dumped in nearby bushes.
According to police, the murder took place on June 21
in a rented flat in Indraprastha Phase-2, Raipur. The accused, Ankit Sharma
and his wife Shivani Sharma, kept the body inside the flat for nearly 48
hours, looking for the right time and method to dispose of it. When the
corpse began to decompose and emit a strong odor, they hurriedly packed it into
a suitcase, filled it with cement to reduce the stench, and threw it into a
nearby thicket with the help of two accomplices.
Motive: Property Money and Unpaid Debt
The victim, Kishore Paikara, had known the main
accused Ankit since 2018. Ankit had earlier helped Kishore sell a piece of land
in Tilda’s Madhi village worth ₹30 lakh, earning a ₹2 lakh commission. Later,
Ankit took ₹10 lakh from Kishore, claiming he would help sell some disputed
land through legal proceedings. When the land didn't sell and Ankit refused to
return the money, tensions grew between them.
At the time of his murder, Kishore still had around ₹18 lakh
in cash. He had recently become disabled after a bicycle accident and could no
longer walk. Living alone, he began relying on Ankit for daily needs. Ankit
would bring him water and food, which Kishore believed was in lieu of the money
Ankit owed.
Over time, Kishore began ordering food from restaurants and
asked Ankit to bring him bottled mineral water daily. The rising expenses and
pressure to return the ₹10 lakh pushed Ankit to plan the murder. He eventually
shared the idea with his wife Shivani. Initially hesitant, she agreed after
hearing the detailed plan.
Cold-Blooded Execution
On June 19, the couple rented a flat in Indraprastha
Phase-2 using online payment of ₹6,500 to the landlady, Sitara Begum.
They moved in with a few belongings and lured Kishore there under the pretext
of cleaning his ancestral home.
Once inside the flat, Ankit strangled and twisted Kishore’s
neck while Shivani held his legs. The teenager, already physically weak,
couldn’t resist. After confirming his death, Ankit also stabbed Kishore’s neck
with a knife to ensure he was dead.
Initially, the plan was to dispose of the body in a
suitcase. But the excessive blood made the suitcase unusable. The couple left
the body and went out the next day to buy a new trunk. By the time they
returned, the stench had become unbearable. They wrapped the body, placed it
inside the suitcase, and poured cement to control the smell.
To transport the heavy case, Ankit contacted two
acquaintances—Vinay Yadu and Suryakant Yadu—told them about the
murder, and assured them they wouldn't get into trouble. With their help, the
cement-filled suitcase was taken down the lift and loaded into a car. The body
was eventually dumped in nearby bushes during daylight hours to avoid nighttime
suspicion.
Attempt to Flee
After disposing of the body, the couple booked flight
tickets and fled Raipur with plans to rent a house in Delhi. However, once the
suitcase was discovered, police quickly identified the car and traced it back
to the Indraprastha flat. Based on eyewitness accounts and rental payment
records, Ankit was identified.
Arrests and Investigation
Raipur Police have arrested Ankit Sharma, Shivani
Sharma, and the two accomplices Vinay and Suryakant Yadu. All
four are now in custody.
The police plan to present the accused in court to obtain a remand
for further interrogation and a scene recreation of the crime. More
details are expected as the investigation continues.
