Champa: Students of Class 12 from Saraswati Shishu Mandir School visited the Champa Police Station today as part of an educational tour aimed at providing practical insights into the workings of the police force. The visit sought to familiarize students with the department’s duties, operational procedures, and its broader role in maintaining law and order and public welfare.
The students were warmly welcomed by Station House Officer (SHO) Jai Prakash Gupta and his team. In an engaging and student-friendly session, the officers explained the role of police in society, the process of filing an FIR, the importance of cybercrime prevention, and the mechanisms of maintaining public order.
The tour included visits to key areas within the station such as the duty officer’s desk, night officer’s chamber, the lock-up room, the computer room, and the CCTV surveillance control center. These real-life demonstrations helped students gain a deeper understanding of the infrastructure and day-to-day responsibilities within a police station.
The officers emphasized that police work goes beyond catching criminals. They elaborated on the police's roles in public safety, child and women protection, traffic regulation, and cybercrime prevention. Students also received detailed information on cyber fraud, social media safety, and legal protections for women and children.
Teachers accompanying the students praised the initiative, stating that such programs nurture respect for the law, boost students’ confidence, and enhance social awareness.
The visit proved to be an informative and inspiring experience. It not only contributed to the students’ academic development but also fostered a more positive and informed perception of the police force. This practical exposure is expected to encourage students to become more responsible and law-abiding citizens.
