Appeal to Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma for Humanitarian Financial Aid After the Deaths of 8 Youths from Poor Families
Jaipur: In a tragic incident on Tuesday in the Tonk
district, eight young men from Jaipur drowned in the Banas River while on a
picnic. The accident has left the families of the deceased in deep shock and
financial crisis. All the victims belonged to extremely poor backgrounds, and
now their families have lost their sole breadwinners.
Expressing deep sorrow over the incident, the Muslim
Progressive Federation has urged the government to immediately provide
compensation to the families of the victims. Abdul Salam Johar, convener of the
Federation, appealed to Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma to provide at
least ₹25 lakh as financial aid to each bereaved family without delay. Johar
stated, “This tragedy is not just a heartbreaking event, but a crisis that has
devastated the lives of several families. These families now have no means of
livelihood. In such circumstances, we expect the state government to offer
humanitarian support.”
The Federation also appealed to the local MLA, as well as
Members of Parliament from both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, to extend maximum
financial support to the affected families through their respective funds.
Federation’s Demands:
- ₹25
lakh financial aid per deceased victim’s family from the Chief Minister’s
Relief Fund
- Additional
support from MLA and MP funds
- Immediate
benefits under government schemes and arrangements for rehabilitation
This tragedy has shaken the entire state of Rajasthan. It
now remains to be seen to what extent the government and public representatives
step up to support the distressed families.
