Jaipur Rural’s Shahpura police have taken major action by arresting three accused involved in the fake tea business. The arrested individuals have been identified as Sonu, Ritesh, and Sangam — all residents of the Shahpura area.
Police received information that counterfeit tea was being illegally sold under the brand name "Maheshwari" in the Shahpura region. Acting swiftly on this tip, the DST (District Special Team), along with Shahpura police and representatives from the Maheshwari company, conducted a joint raid.
During the operation, raids were carried out at three different shops, and a total of 490 packets of fake tea were seized. Preliminary investigation revealed that these tea packets were being sold using the original company’s name and brand without authorization.
Currently, the police are interrogating the accused to determine whether they were manufacturing the fake tea themselves or sourcing it from elsewhere and distributing it in the local market. Efforts are also underway to identify other individuals involved in this illegal trade.
