Jain community took out a silent procession in Ajmer: Protested against the attacks on Jain saints and nuns


 Ajmer: On Tuesday, the entire Jain community took out a silent procession in Ajmer in protest against the attacks on Jain saints and nuns and the deliberate accidents during the pilgrimage. In this peaceful demonstration, followers of both Digambar and Shwetambar sects gathered on one platform and gave a message of unity.  The demonstration started from the power house located at Hathibhata, from where the silent rally left and reached the District Collectorate. All the devotees were walking peacefully in white clothes carrying placards in their hands. A large number of men and women, youth and dignitaries of the society participated I n the procession. After reaching the Collectorate, the representatives of the society submitted a memorandum addressed to the President to the District Collector. In the memorandum, concern has been expressed over the attacks on Jain saints and nuns across the country and security has been demanded. Along with this, action was demanded on the incidents of deliberate accidents on the roads during the pilgrimage of saints.  In the memorandum, an appeal has also been made to remove illegal encroachments on Jain pilgrimage sites and temple premises and to ensure the safety of religious places. Sakal Jain Samaj warned that if such incidents do not stop, a nationwide agitation will be launched.
