Reliance Launches Mega Seva Drive to Support Lakhs of Devotees During Rath Yatra
Bhubaneswar: As the spiritual fervor of Rath Yatra grips Odisha, Reliance Industries Limited, in partnership with the Puri district administration, has rolled out a large-scale initiative to enrich the experience of lakhs of devotees participating in the annual chariot festival.

Drawing crowds from across India and abroad, the Rath Yatra marks the ceremonial journey of Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra, and Subhadra from the Jagannath Temple to the Gundicha Temple. To ensure the safety, comfort, and spiritual fulfillment of pilgrims, Reliance Foundation is undertaking multi-dimensional support activities under its hallmark ‘We Care’ philosophy.

“Serving devotees during Rath Yatra is a divine opportunity. At Reliance, seva is at the heart of what we do. We’re humbled to contribute to making this sacred journey smoother, safer, and more memorable for every pilgrim,” said Shri Anant M Ambani, Executive Director, Reliance Industries Limited.

Key Features of the Rath Yatra Seva Campaign by Reliance:

  • Anna Seva: Hot, nutritious meals are being served to lakhs of devotees and on-duty personnel across six key locations along the Yatra route.
  • Hygiene and Sanitation: Contactless sanitizers have been installed at food points, garbage bags provided to help maintain cleanliness, and sanitation facilities extended to police camps.
  • Crowd Facilitation: Reliance is working with municipal and police authorities to install directional signage, helping visitors navigate the dense crowd safely and easily.
  • Volunteer Force: More than 4,000 trained volunteers, easily identifiable in uniform, are deployed to assist with crowd control, manage hydration points, and offer support to devotees.
  • Heat Relief Measures: Over 1.5 lakh eco-friendly hand fans are being distributed to help pilgrims combat the summer heat.
  • Police Support Infrastructure: 100 police aid posts have been set up along the route, equipped with shelters and essential amenities for the personnel and as help points for pilgrims.
  • Monsoon Readiness: With rains expected, 3,500 raincoats have been distributed among police staff. Volunteers and municipal workers are also being provided with refreshment kits to sustain long duty hours.

Earlier this year, Reliance Foundation led similar seva efforts during Maha Kumbh 2025 in Prayagraj, where it extended services including health camps, food distribution, and transport aid to lakhs of pilgrims.
