Jaipur: To address the frequent traffic congestion and accidents occurring at various junctions along the Jaipur-Agra Bypass, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has decided to construct three flyovers at critical points: Kanota, Bassi T-Point, and Banskho Crossing. Additionally, the cut near the 52-Feet Hanuman Temple, located before Bagru Ring Road, is set to be permanently closed.
This
decision was made during a recent Road Safety Committee meeting chaired by the
District Collector. During the session, the NHAI Project Director highlighted
that traffic jams and frequent accidents at these locations have categorized
them as "black spots." In response, flyovers will be constructed at
each of these sites to ease the traffic flow on the highway and reduce the
likelihood of accidents.
Bids for the
construction of the three flyovers have already been invited and are expected
to be opened within this month. Post evaluation, the construction work will
commence. The estimated cost of building these three flyovers is approximately
₹95 crore.
Cut Near
Bagru to Be Closed
The NHAI
Project Director also emphasized the need to close the cut located in front of
the 52-Feet Hanuman Temple near Bagru. He has sought support from the local
police and approval from the administration to proceed. The cut currently
diverts a significant volume of local traffic, often resulting in traffic jams
and minor accidents.
