Government Sends Requisition to RPSC for Recruitment of 1,100 Veterinary Officers
Minister Joraram Kumawat Chairs Review Meeting of Animal Husbandry Department

Jaipur: Rajasthan’s Minister of Animal Husbandry, Dairy, Gopalan, and Devasthan, Mr. Joraram Kumawat, directed officials to expedite the recruitment process for vacant posts in the Animal Husbandry Department. The directives came during a departmental review meeting held at the Secretariat on Wednesday.

Minister Kumawat reviewed the status of recruitment for 1,100 Veterinary Officer posts, 2,540 Livestock Inspectors, and 6,433 Animal Attendants. During the meeting, the department's Director, Dr. Anand Sejra, provided updates on the recruitment process. The Minister confirmed that the requisition for 1,100 Veterinary Officer posts has been sent to the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC).

The competitive examination for Livestock Inspectors was held on June 13, 2025, and instructions have been given to release the results at the earliest. Similarly, the document verification process for Animal Attendants has been completed. However, due to ongoing court cases involving a few applicants, the department has been asked to pursue the cases with strong legal representation.

During the meeting, Minister Kumawat also reviewed the Mukhyamantri Mangla Pashu Bima Yojana, directing officials to ensure that health certificates for all 16 lakh animals under the scheme are issued and policies distributed by August 15, 2025.

The Minister further ordered the completion of repair and construction work of Animal Husbandry Department buildings across the state at an estimated cost of ₹200 crore. Discussions were also held regarding the National Livestock Mission, pending applications, and operational matters related to veterinary colleges and diploma courses.

Regarding disease prevention in livestock, Minister Kumawat reviewed the progress of vaccination drives against Lumpy, Galghontu (Hemorrhagic Septicemia), and Langda Fever, and instructed officials to accelerate the efforts.

The meeting was attended by Director of Animal Husbandry Dr. Anand Sejra, Additional Director (Farms and Assets) Mr. Vikas Sharma, and Veterinary Officer (Legal) Mr. Anil Maharshi.
