Major Theft Solved in Uttarpara: Three Arrested, Stolen Jewelry Recovered

Police in Uttarpara have successfully uncovered a significant burglary case that took place at a private residence in the South Bye Lane of C.S. Mukherjee Street, Konnagar. The incident occurred on or before the night of June 29, 2025, at the home of Mrs. Archana Chatterjee, who had been away for the past seven to eight days. Upon returning on July 1, she found her house broken into and valuable items missing, including gold and silver jewelry, cash, and other household items. She immediately filed a written complaint at Uttarpara police station, prompting the registration of a formal case.

Taking swift action, the investigating officer from Uttarpara police station, along with the district crime branch, launched a focused probe. With the help of informants and intelligence gathering, the team traced and arrested three individuals on July 2 in connection with the theft. During their arrest, police also recovered stolen gold and silver ornaments along with imitation jewelry. The arrested individuals were reportedly involved in the burglary while the homeowner was away.

All three suspects are residents of the Rishra area, and police are now investigating whether they have links to other theft cases in the region. The prompt response and arrest have been widely appreciated by local residents, who have expressed renewed trust in the efficiency of the Uttarpara police. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities continue to explore other possible leads tied to the accused.
